For example, in 2 Corinthians Paul is insistent that the Corinthians chose worldly or carnal spectacles. They evaluated based on appearances and outward glory. Instead, they ought to be like Paul, who learned how to disregard the fleshly perspective (κατὰ σάρκα) and instead walk by πίστις and not εἶδος (5:7).
